History

18.03.1956

stationed at J/E 3-Borkumriff north-west of the island of Borkum for the first time. The lightship looks totally different to all former German lightships. The latern mast and bridge are made from light metall.

BORKUMRIFF is the last manned German lightvessels to be de-commissioned
Since 1989

Today the vessel is berthed at the island of Borkum. It is open to the public and visitors can explore the ship with a guided tour (in German language only).
