during WWI withdrawn from Relandersgrund station and sent to Rauma. Russian seamen, wildly celebrating their revolution, sailed it to the southern shore of the Gulf of Finland and sank it

the lightship was raised, repaired in Tallin, brought to Helsinki and converted into a reserve lightship

The lightship was renamed back into RELANDERSGRUND and is still afloat and open to the public from June 1st to August 31st as a summer restaurant ship called "RELLU" in the central harbour of Kotka in South Finland.


The above shown photos have been taken in September 2005 in Helsinki. From October 2nd to October 8th, 2005 took the annual fish market "Baltic Herring Fair" place in Helsinki. The lightship was towed from her normal berth in Kotka to Helsinki to take part in this event. I have no idea, how long the lightship will stay in Helsinki, but if you are a lucky one, you might see it on this webcam.
